The following tutorial will only work for the Instagram mobile app. The Instagram website does not let you remove notifications.
Step1: Open the Instagram app and access the activity tab by tapping the heart icon in the bottom menu. Your activity tab will show all the notifications you have received on Instagram.
Step2: Locate the notification you want to remove from your activity tab.
