Snapchat regularly rolls out new features to make the user experience more engaging. The feature called ring light is one of the most recent features introduced by Snapchat. We will explain in this article how to turn on the ring light on Snapchat.
When you activate this new feature, a ring flash starts appearing on the front camera screen of the Snapchat app. You can control the color tone and the area of the ring flash.
How to Turn On the Ring Light on Snapchat
You can currently use the new ring light feature only on the Android version of the Snapchat app. The reason is that Snapchat has not rolled out the feature for iOS devices as yet. So, you cannot access this new feature on iOS devices until Snapchat introduces it for iOS devices.
Step1: Launch the Snapchat app on your Android device.
Step2: Make sure that you have turned on the front camera and not the back.
Step3: Tap the flash icon in the top-right section of the screen to turn on the ring light. The flash icon looks like a small thunder sign. A menu will also appear on the screen to help you control the ring light.
Step4: You can drag the slider to increase or decrease the area of the ring light. You can also select the color tone of the ring flash by either selecting Neutral, Warm, or Cool options.
If the flash icon does not appear on your Snapchat app, try updating the app to the latest version. The ring flash feature on Snapchat is relatively new, so you might need to update your app to access it. You can easily update the Snapchat app on Android devices from Play Store.
How to Turn OFF the Ring Flash Feature
You only need to tap the flash icon again to turn off the ring flash on the front camera of Snapchat.
